Abstract:

To provide a method and an instrument which provide a handback process after handoff between MSCs from a first MSC and a second MSC under active call to an MS in a radio remote communication system.

An attempt of handback between MSCs from the second MSC to the first MSC is started. Resource is set up in the first MSC and a first BS. A Command which directs to the MS to start handback is transmitted to the MS. A message showing failure of handback is received from the MS. As a result of new message exchange between the first and the second MSC, resources set up in the first MSC and the BS are eliminated timely. It is included that the first MSC and the BS transmit to a second BS a message showing that another handback between MSCs has been prepared.
