To enable a user to automatically obtain and print out a desired document by storing information regarding a document obtained from a server and automatically acquiring the document from the server according to the stored information.

An automatic document acquiring device 1 is connected to an output device 2 which prints a document out and also connected to a network 3 such as the Internet. Then documents are automatically obtained from a web server 4, a document server 5, a data base server 6, a work group server 7, and a BBS server 8 through the network 3 and printed out by the output device 2. For example, when a document is obtained from the web server 4, an HTTP request is sent first to the web server 4 through the network 3. The web server 4 having received the request attaches the document complying with the request to an HTTP library and sends them back and the automatic document acquiring device 1 having received them sends them out to the output device 2, which prints them out.
