Abstract:
PURPOSE:To realize automatic calculation for a compressed layout equivalent to that designed manually by packing the array objects every time each of these objects is supplied with the packing direction allocated to each array object set as an index and packing said objects after deleting idle areas. CONSTITUTION:A pattern compiling program 13 fetches pattern array information from a mouse 10 and produces a pattern information file 18. Then a packing direction indicating program 14 fetches packing object pattern information and packing direction information from the mouse 10 and a joy stick 11 and produces a packing direction file 19 for each pattern. A compaction program 12 fetches the contents of files 18 and 19 as well as a design rule file 17 and packs automatically patterns up to the limit of the design rule based on said contents of those files. Then the program 12 performs compaction processing to automatically calculate a compressed array layout. Thus it is possible to produce a compressed array layout having a form area equivalent to that designed manually.
