Abstract:
To provide a method and a device for backing up data with which the data can be properly backed up even when a power source is turned off while data are written in a non-volatile memory.
This device is provided with an EEPROM 104 as the non-volatile memory, a CPU (data processing means) 103 for processing data in the EEPROM 104 while accessing these data, power source 101, a power source OFF detecting circuit 102 for detecting the interruption of power supply from the power source 101 to the CPU 103 and EEPROM 104, and a capacitor 105 for supplying power to the CPU 103 and EEPROM 104 in the period from the interruption of power supply to at least the end of data writing into the EEPROM 104 through the CPU 103.
