To provide a method and a device for bending a bar-shaped work capable of continuously bending the bar-shaped work such as a pipe with an arbitrary curvature in an arbitrary direction.

The bending device comprises a feed mechanism 1 to feed a bar-like work W, a shaft turning mechanism 2 to turn the bar-like work, a clamping mechanism 3 to clamp the bar-like work, a fixed die 4 to hold a worked portion of the bar-like work, a press mechanism 6 to repeatedly press a movable die 5 against the worked portion of the bar-like work, and a pressing position adjustment mechanism 7 to adjust the pressing position of the movable die of the press mechanism 6. The movable die 5 of the press mechanism 6 is repeatedly pressed against the pressing position of the bar-like work while intermittently feeding the bar-like work in the axial direction by the feed mechanism 1. The bar-like work is turned around the axis by the shaft turning mechanism 2 to adjust the bending direction, and the bar-like work is bent in a three-dimensional manner by adjusting the amplitude of the movable die by the press mechanism 6 and the pressing position by the pressing position adjustment mechanism 7.
