To provide a bookbinding method, preventing theoretically the damage of a saddle stitching book due to the mischief of children as well as the generation of harm due to a stitching needle and capable of contriving the further improvement in bookbinding efficiency with a simple means.

In the bookbinding device of a saddle stitching book, an elevation guide means 18, guiding a saddle stitching book (a) upwardly and forming a space 17 between a transfer chain mechanism 11, is provided at the downstream side requested position of a stitcher 14 and, on the other hand, a section feeder 20, supplying a one-sheet constituted section 4 into the transferring direction and a reverse direction of the transfer chain mechanism 11, is provided at the upper part of the transfer chain mechanism 11. At the same time, a means C, providing the section 4 with a folding line 5 at the central position a transfer means 21, guiding and transferring the section 4 into the space 17 to supply it to the transfer chain mechanism 11, and a glue blowing means 22, blowing glue against the back side of the section 4, are provided sequentially so as to be neighbored to the upstream side of the section feeder 20.
