Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by burning particulates in exhaust gas scavenged in a filter with exhaust gas heat when the exhaust gas reaches a predetermined high temperature so as to dispense with constant operation of a heater for combustion. CONSTITUTION:When an exhaust gas G is generated from engine operation, a filter 2 scavenges a particulate C and the particulate C is swept off by a backwash operation of a backwash nozzle 5 and drops into a heater chamber 19 through a collection part 18. And a controller 33 judges whether the temperature of the exhaust gas G reaches a predetermined high temperature and a combustible condition is established or not, and if yes, an electromagnetic valve 25 of a pressure air supply pipe 23 is opened and the particulate C is introduced to a particulate combustion chamber 11 through a transfer pipe 24. The exhaust gas G at high temperature divided from an exhaust passage 1 is collected in the particulate combustion chamber 11, and the particulate C is burned by its heat. Also, when the particulate C is detected collecting in an amount more than a predetermined amount by a level sensor 36 of the collection part 18, a heater 4 is operated so as to burn the particulate.
