Abstract:

PURPOSE:To accurately calibrate a laser range finder without receiving any influence under a rolling work condition at the time of measuring the various values of the cross-sectional dimension of a rolled section steel with the laser range finder. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of measurements obtained by a laser range finder is simultaneously corrected on the rotary calibration surfaces of a plurality of notched discoid calibration pieces 29, 30, 34, and 35 arranged on a calibration spindles 22 and 24 which rotate around an axis parallel with the light emitting axis of the laser range finder at prescribed intervals by alternately changing phases.
