To provide a method for cleaning a masking plate for printing as the one to solve a working environmental problem due to the use of an organic cleaning solution which generates a smell at a working site or affects the health of workers, a problem with the disposal of a cleaning agent after use and the like, contrary to a conventional method for cleaning the masking plate for printing with a printing material such as solder paste sticking to and accumulated on the plate, and also as the one not to impair the masking plate in whatever way and peel the printing material such as solder paste sticking and accumulated on the surface, back or the opening of the masking part and further, make a masking plate manufacturing work easy as well as a cleaning device.

The printing material sticking to and accumulated on the masking plate for printing is removed and water-washed by spraying a cleaning medium in which a cleaning material composed of fine polymer particles obtained by using a low expandable surfactant is dispersed, at a high speed onto both faces of the masking part of the masking plate for printing with the sticking and accumulated printing material. In this case, the grain diameter of the cleaning material composed of the fine polymer particles is smaller than the smallest opening width of the masking part.
