Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the band width required for multi-channel transmission by utilizing the similarity of one-set of image data and other image data in the transmission of a multi-channel image so as to obtain a difference image thereby enhancing the compression rate of the image data.
CONSTITUTION: An image 3 among images 1-4 acquired for each frequency band is used for an image 5 being a base of differential compression to form a differential image 61(62, 63) between the basic image 5 and the other image 1(2, 4) respectively. The basic image and the differential images are given to a compressor 7, in which the compressed images are formed respectively and they are sent in the time division system. Thus, since the similarity is very strong in the image data obtained by the MSS, it is possible to compress the transmission band width of the image data over multi-channels into one channel and the resulting radio wave is sent, then this method is very effective to the effective utilization of radio waves, problems at legal application of radio wave allocation and radio wave transmission distance or the like.
