Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the data transfer speed by connecting disk devices to a disk common bus in the order of requests for data transfer and then performing the data transfer.
CONSTITUTION: A microprocessor 1 recognizes the requests for data transfer from the respective disk devices 2-1 to 2-8 in the order of the requests and connects the disk devices 2-1 to 2-8 to the disk common bus 4 in the order of the requests to perform the data transfer. Consequently, variance in wait time for connection with the common bus 4 among the disk devices is reducible. Consequently, an unnecessary rotation wait due to an overflow or underflow state of the internal memory of a disk device is eliminated to improve the data transfer speed. Further, even when the capacity of the disk device internal buffer memory is small (less than one-track capacity), the unnecessary rotation wait is reducible, so the data transfer speed is improved.
