Abstract:

To inject a proper amount of pilot injection into a combustion chamber in an internal combustion engine even when various characteristics are varied due to a machine difference or a temporal fluctuation.

When high-pressure fuel from a common rail 2 is divided into a main injection and a pilot injection previous to the main injection to be injected into the combustion chamber of the diesel engine 10, differentials ΔQi between reference idle injection amount data DI necessary for maintaining the diesel engine 10 in an idle operating condition and idle time basic injection amount data D1 are obtained as learning value data D4 through learning by a learning value outputting means 74. Then, target pilot injection amount data D2 computed by a target pilot injection amount computing means 72 for pilot injection are corrected on the basis of the learning data D4 by an addition means 80. According to corrected target pilot injection amount data D7 obtained by this correction, pilot injection amount control is carried out.
