Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a structure so as to miniaturize device and reduce costs by limiting the number of connecting wiring lines necessary for the position detecting signal processing of an optical pickup to one.
SOLUTION: The portion of an inner peripheral switch 8 for detecting the traverse direction inner most peripheral position of an optical pickup 1, which is brought into contact with the optical pickup 1, is set as a second conductive member 19b via an insulating member, the portion of the optical pickup 1 brought into contact with the conductive member 19b is set as a first conductive member 19a connected to the ground 6, the potential of the second conductive member 19b is detected by a microcomputer 10, and when its potential becomes equal to a ground potential, that is, when the second and first conductive members 19a and 19b are brought into contact with each other, the microcomputer 10 controls a driver 14 to reversely rotate a traverse motor 2, and moves the optical pickup 1 in an outer peripheral direction. Instead of providing the switch 8, the second conductive member 2 may be directly guided to a control circuit 9.
