Abstract:
To reduce the capacitance of an inverter for switching an induction motor.
In order to control for switching a plurality of induction motors 3-1 to 3 driven by an inverter 2 to a standby induction motor 3-4, a direct-input switch 4-d4 of the standby unit 3-4 is turned on to connect to an AC power source 1. When the speed of the standby unit 3-4 reaches a prescribed value (f1+α) that exceeds a synchronized speed f1 by the inverter 2, the direct-input switch 4-d4 is turned off for free running. When the speed of the standby unit 3-4 falls to the synchronized speed thereafter, a drive switch 4-i4 of the standby unit 3-4 is turned on to connect to the inverter 2.
