To provide a method and a device for controlling a turbine generator capable of suppressing generated electrical power without wastefully consuming the fuel of a diesel engine when demand electrical power is reduced to cause surplus generated electrical power.
The turbine generator is formed by connecting a power turbine 7 to a steam turbine 9 in series, the power turbine driven by the exhaust energy of exhaust gas discharged from the diesel engine 3 as a power source. In the turbine generator, the diesel engine 3 includes an exhaust turbosupercharger 5. A part of exhaust gas before supplied to the exhaust turbosupercharger 5 is extracted, the extracted exhaust gas is supplied to the power turbine 7 while adjusting a supply amount, and steam generated by an economizer 11 is supplied to the steam turbine 9 while adjusting a supply amount. When the demand electrical power is reduced and the generated electrical power is surplus, the amount of steam supplied to the steam turbine 9 is reduced after the amount of exhaust gas supplied to the power turbine 7 is reduced to minimize the output of the power turbine 7.
