PURPOSE: To carry out the copy machining of a workpiece requiring a relatively low machining accuracy at a low cost by providing a copying roller the copying face of which is the inner shape or outer shape of a pipe and machining a pipe end part by means of a tool which is moved in response to the copying roller.
CONSTITUTION: On the face opposite to a workpiece W of an inside copying tool rest 5, a copying roller 13 and a cutting tool 14 are provided and the copying roller 13 is formed into a cone shape. The tool 14 is advanced/retracted in the direction of the roller 13 by means of a cylinder 18. A spring 21 is inserted on the outside of a lifting rod 19 on the right of the rotatably installing pin 12 of a machine frame 11 to energize the machine frame 11 counterclockwise around the pin 12. Hence, the machine frame 11 is oscillated around the pin 12 so that the copy roller 13 is brought into contact with the inner periphery of the workpiece W to copy the inner peripheral shape. Accordingly, since the tool 14 can catch its cutting face with the wall thickness of the workpiece W as a reference, the operation can be carried out without need for using an exclusive copying lathe reducing a cost.
