PURPOSE: To accurately update azimuth data by a method wherein the deviation of azimuth of a gyro is obtained based on time series data of difference between an azimuth of a vehicle measured by the gyro and an azimuth of the vehicle measured by a global positioning system(GPS).
CONSTITUTION: A signal processing device 13 of a key station 1 calculates difference between measured position data inputted from a GPS satellite 3 via a GPS receiver 12 and position data of a predetermined base station and transmits the correction data to a child station 2. The child station 3 receives measured position data from the satellite 3 via a GPS receiver 22 and correction data from the key station 1 via a radio modem 24, respectively. A signal processing device 25 calculates renewed position data of the child station 2 to store it and detects an azimuth based on the GPS in accordance with deviation between present position data and position data in one scanning before. The azimuth is stored in a memory 27 together with an azimuth obtained by a gyro 26 and an azimuth correction device 28 corrects the azimuth obtained by the gyro in accordance with the time-series stored data.
