The meandering direction and the meandering rate of the work 1 to be heated are detected by using at least two sets of sensors and position detectors to detect the movement in the longitudinal direction of a moving skid 5 which are respectively provided on both end parts in the furnace width direction, and a beam frame 3 is tilted in a horizontal condition by the quantity of not less than the detected meandering rate in the counter-meandering direction of the work 1 to be heated, and the meandering of the work is corrected as occasion demands.
