Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain high error detecting capability even if received data are bits shifted by performing encoding by using both CRC-16 and CRC-CCITT and changing the order of information input for respective encoding processes at the time of the calculation of CRC-16 and CRC-CCITT.
SOLUTION: Source transmit data at the MSB head is inputted to a data inversion part 1 and converted into data having the LSB at the head, and the resulting data is inputted to a CRC-16 encoder 2. After its encoding, the data except the 16 bits at the rail is converted by a data inversion part 3 into the data at the MSB head and the data is encoded by a CRC-CCITT encoder 4 and transmitted. On a reception side, the MSB head data has the CRC-CCITT code part deleted by a CRC-CCITT encoder 14 and the data except the 16 bits at the tail is converted by a data inversion part 13 into the data at the LSB head; and a CRC-16 encoder 12 deletes the CRC-16 code part and a data inversion part 11 converts the data into the data at the MSB head and outputs the data in the original data format.
