PURPOSE: To make it possible to process a digital value corresponding to a digitized analog input signal expressing coded binary data by mutually offsetting by one bit count, repeating in a successive pair of clock cycles, and calculating beforehand each formula value in two groups of formulae from pre-selected numbers of sample values before the sample values at that time between individual repeating steps.
CONSTITUTION: A sequential detection algorithm dependent on a state is mutually offset by one sample position, and is calculated beforehand from the pre- selected number of samples before current sample value during each repeat step in a successive pair of clock cycles. And, pre-selected values of these formulae are compared with appropriate threshold values which are the same to the corresponding formulae of each group, and decision outputs of each binary number corresponding to each of two groups is generated and then the state values at that time advance to the following two successive state values. Thus, it becomes possible to process a digital value corresponding to a digitized analog input signal expressing coded binary data in a signal processing channel.
