Abstract:

To provide a device which accurately detects accumulation amount of blast furnace dust in a blast furnace dust catcher (DC), without use of radiation rays.

The device including a thermometer 8 for measuring the inner temperature of a blast furnace dust catcher 5 calculates the amount of temperature change per predetermined time from the measured value of the temperature 8. By comparison of the amount of temperature change with a predetermined rated value, the presence of the blast furnace dust 4 at the position of the thermometer 8 is determined. By comparison of the directly measured amount of temperature change of the interior of DC 5 with a rated value based on the temperature fluctuation of blast furnace gas depending on the operational state of a blast furnace 1, the accumulation level of the blast furnace dust 4 can be accurately detected.
