In the method for detecting hydrogen gas over a wide range with a plurality of sensors, one of the sensors where the hydrogen concentration is detected at a measuring point with the plurality of the hydrogen sensors with different sensitivities; and the detection concentration and sensitivity saturated point concentration preset by each sensor are compared and determined, by the result the sensitivity saturated point concentration of the selected sensor is larger than the present value of the hydrogen concentration of the measured point and is smaller than the sensitivity saturated point concentration of the other sensor, is selected to extract a detection signal.
