To solve the problem of confirming the location of a meridian point which is difficult because of the dependence on the condition of a body surface due to required contact with the body surface of the periphery of the meridian point in a conventional method for detecting the meridian point, and also to solve the difficult problem of judging whether the meridian point really belongs to a target path.

Light having intensity varied by the period of torsional vibration of the path belonging to the meridian point is applied to the body surface of the periphery of the meridian point and the position of the meridian point is confirmed by the draw resonance caused by the light.
