Abstract:

To provide a method and device for detecting rupture in a buried pipe that can judge whether the underground buried pipe is broken halfway or not and can specify the rupture point in case of the rupture.

A buried pipe rupture detection device is provided with a pulse generator 14 and a transmission antenna 15 for emitting electromagnetic waves from the ground to the underground, and a receiver 16 and a reception antenna 17 for receiving the reception waves of electromagnetic waves due to an underground buried pipe 6. In this case, a processing part 13 is provided with a function for detecting the hyperbolic curve pattern of a reflection pattern for each scanning by scanning a transmission/reception part 12 in a specific direction while emitting electromagnetic waves from the transmission antenna 15 and receiving reflection waves due to each scanning by the reception antenna 17 when the scanning is made for a plurality of times while changing the position. Then, the processing part 13 is provided with a rupture position detection function for judging the direction of a pipe axis by connecting the apexes of the hyperbola pattern obtained for each scanning, and then for detecting the rupture position from a bottom part when the bottom part is generated due to the strength peak value transition of the reflection pattern being obtained by the scanning when the transmission antenna 15 is scanned along the pipe axis.
