Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device of determining failure of an optical module for a vehicle lamp.SOLUTION: A method of determining failure of an optical module for a vehicle lamp according to the invention includes: a detection step S100 of detecting at least one optical characteristic information value of the light generated from a light source; a normal determination step S300 of determining whether or not the detected optical characteristic information value falls within predetermined normal range values; a failure determination step S301 of determining failure when the optical characteristic information value detected in the normal determination step falls outside the predetermined normal range values; and a safe mode operation step S500 of limiting the operation of the light source when failure is determined in the failure determination step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
