Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dictionary register method and its device which are efficient by using a compression algorithm using a Digram (a two characters pair).
SOLUTION: A dictionary register device is equipped with a storage device 1 and a data processor 2. The storage device 1 is equipped with a pointer column holding part 11 for storing the pointer column prepared by the compression algorithm and a dictionary storage part 12 for storing a Digram of the pointer. The data processor 2 is equipped with a dictionary retrieval means 21 for preparing the Digram and retrieving the dictionary storage part 12, a compression rate monitoring part 23 for monitoring the average compression rate, and a dictionary register means 22 which normally registers the Digram uniformity of which is recognized in the dictionary storage part 12, calculates a occurrence probability of this Digram when the compression rate is lowered and does not perform dictionary register when the occurrence probability is below a specified value in comparison with the occurrence probability of other pointers.
