PURPOSE: To perform automatic fall only through pulling-up operation by a bucket falling device arranged to a winding tower by a method wherein the bucket lifted up to a winding tower in a state to be hung down from a bucket wire is caused to automatically fall without a work to hook a chain by a worker and operation to separate a bucket from a rider.

CONSTITUTION: When a bucket (a) hung down from a bucket wire 17 is coupled to a rider (c) at a point of time when the bucket is lifted to a scaffold 19, the direction of the bucket (a) is corrected to a given direction by means of a bucket direction correcting device (d) arranged to the rider (c). The bucket (a) the direction of which is corrected is lifted to and received by a bucket falling device (e) of a winding tower 21, and forced to fall in a given direction along with pull-up operation and loaded muck is discharged.
