This method has a format converting process for converting the map data of an electronic map described in a format unreadable for a prescribed function group engine among plural electronic maps constituted by respectively using prescribed function groups to a format readable for the function group engine, selecting process for selecting one or plural electronic maps out of plural electronic maps according to a prescribed indicating input, and a display process for displaying the selected electronic maps on a prescribed computer screen by applying function processing by means of the function group engine to the map data of the format readable for the function group engine of the electronic maps selected in the selecting process and outputting the map data after function processing to the image display processing means of a computer.
