Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a three-dimensional picture display method/device by which an object can three-dimensionally be displayed by means of changing resolution based on a display state.
CONSTITUTION: Adaptive polygon data obtained by changing the resolution of polygon in accordance with the change of the surface shape of the display object is used. Hierarchy adaptive polygon data such as adaptive polygon data 33 of resolution 'l' and adaptive polygon data 34 of resolution '2' is formed and held by plural pieces of adaptive polygon data different in the maximum resolution of polygon included in data. At the time of displaying a three- dimensional picture, appropriate resolution is selected in accordance with the rotation/-shift of the display object or the size (picture angle) of the display object on a display screen and display is executed by using adaptive polygon data of the resolution.
