Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of dyeing by which the color density is easily controlled and a plastic lens can be dyed into stable hue in a short time, and to provide a device for dyeing which uses the aforementioned method of dyeing.
SOLUTION: The method includes a first process to apply a dyeing material prepared by dissolving a subliming dyestuff or dispersing a dyestuff into fine particles on a substrate, a second process to allowing the coating face of the substrate coated with the dyeing material to face both surfaces of a plastic lens in a non-contact state in almost vacuum, and a third process to heat the substrate to sublimate the subliming dyestuff and to bring the subliming dyestuff into contact with the plastic lens to dye the lens.
