To suppress a variation in heating temperature for a plate-like workpiece relatively readily even if a plate-like workpiece formed into a non-rectangular shape is heated when a plate-like workpiece is heated by energization heating.
An energization heating method that heats a plate-like workpiece by attaching a pair of electrodes to the plate-like workpiece and energizing the plate-like workpiece includes steps of: preparing a plurality of plate-like workpieces W1, W2 each formed into a predetermined shape; superposing the plurality of plate-like workpieces W1, W2 each other; attaching the pair of electrodes 11 to the plurality of plate-like workpieces W1, W2; and energizing between the pair of electrodes 11. The plurality of plate-like workpieces W1, W2 are prepared and superposed each other so that a summation of cross-sectional surface areas in cross-sectional surfaces perpendicular to an energization direction of the plurality of plate-like workpieces W1, W2 is substantially constant in an energization direction.
