The photographic sensitivity Rs of next radiography acquired by a sensitivity acquiring part 60 and the energy level Eo of the radiation energy remaining on the stimulable phosphor sheet 1 detected by a residual energy detection part 55 are inputted in an erasing energy setting part 65. The erasing energy setting part 65 sets the imparting amount of the erasing energy for erasing the radiation energy remaining on the stimulable phosphor sheet 1 to be larger according as the photographic sensitivity Rs is higher and the energy level Eo is larger. The erasing energy of the set imparting amount is imparted to the stimulable phosphor sheet 1 by an erasion part 50, whereby the radiation energy remaining on the stimulable phosphor sheet 1 is erased.
