To provide a method for monitoring performance of a gas turbine engine.
This method comprises a step (202) for accumulating an adjusting device 104 index from an engine controller 106 and time accumulated in an acceleration adjusting device during acceleration of the engine 102. At least one engine sensor 108 value is monitored after reaching steady condition take-off output (204). Current amount of use of engine adjusting device is normalized into a standard condition using the adjusting device index, accumulated time, and one or more monitoring engine sensor values in a regression equation (206). This method comprises a step (208) for comparing the normalized current amount of use of engine adjusting device with a value in the past of amount of use of engine adjusting device obtained from previous take-off data and steps (210, 212) for giving an instruction for whether preceding prevention maintenance for the engine is performed or not by utilizing the result of comparison.
