Abstract:

PURPOSE: To extract an area, where the black-and-white levels of a binary image are mixed, by detecting whether an extracting object picture element exists in the area mixing the black-and-white levels or not corresponding to any specified AND.
CONSTITUTION: Respective nodes are connected to an AND gate 18, a NOR gate 19 inputs the outputs of those respective nodes, and a NOR gate 20 inputs the outputs of the AND gate 18 and the NOR gate 19. In this case, the NOR gate 19 is constituted by synthesizing an inverter on the input side and the input inverter of the NOR gate 20 on the output side. When the white of the binary image is defined as '1', the black is defined as '0' and all the picture elements of a matrix are '1', the AND gate 18 is turned to '1' and when all the picture elements are '0', the NOR gate 19 is turned to '1'. Since the NOR gate 20 inputs the values of both the gates 18 and 19, when all the picture elements of the matrix are neither '1' nor '0', the NOR gate 20 is turned to '1'. Namely, it is turned to '1' when '1' and '0' are mixed. Thus, the area mixing the black-and-white levels can be inspected.
