PURPOSE: To provide a component feeding method contrived into such a method that the directions of chip-shaped works are made uniform and the works can be reliably fed in a simple constitution and the component feeding device.

CONSTITUTION: A component feeding device is provided with first and second small chambers 54 and 55 for putting works therein, a delivery means for making the works within these chambers 54 and 55 deliver in order, a belt transfer mechanism, which is provided at a position to correspond to the exit of this delivery means for transferring the works delivered by the delivery means to a work take-up position, and a drive mechanism, which interlocks with a work take-up operation using a work take-up mechanism for making the belt transfer mechanism operate. Moreover, the device is constituted so that the speed of the belt transfer means that makes the works transfer to the work take-up position per unit time is higher than that of the work take-up mechanism that takes up the works per unit time.
