Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily heighten the action of folding auxiliary liquid so as to reduce the rupture and damage of paper at the time of folding by heating the folding auxiliary liquid to the normal room temperature or higher. CONSTITUTION: At the time of applying an adhesive along the folding line of a lower web out of two upper and lower webs bonded to each other in a folding line range, an adhesive in a tank 16 is fed into a head 6 through a conduit 10b, and the adhesive is sprayed toward the lower web from the head 6. In the case of treating the upper web with folding auxiliary liquid, a switching device 11 communicates a folding auxiliary liquid conduit 10a with the head 6 and cuts off the adhesive conduit 10b. The folding auxiliary liquid heated to the normal room temperature or higher by a continuous heater 19 is fed to the head 6, and the upper web is treated with this auxiliary liquid to facilitate folding of the upper and lower webs and to reduce the damage of the webs.
