To provide a method and device for detecting a pair of coincident γ-rays generated in a position annihilation phenomena occurred in an object in an image forming area by using a plurality of detectors arranged around the image forming area.
An image forming device comprises a pair of radiation sensitivity detection heads 10a, 10b arranged on both sides of a patient. The detector and patient are mutually and axially moved while a relative angle direction of the detector and patient is held constant. A position annihilation phenomena occurred within an anatomical portion of the patient is detected, and is used for reconstructing an image. According to one reconstruction technique, a focusing face method is used. Intersections between a coincident line and a plurality of image plans are decided and a series of images representing the intersections are generated.
