To obtain a method for forming spacers for a liquid crystal panel, with which saving of raw materials to be used therefor and reduction in the amount of waste disposal of materials to be used or the like are attained and further which is suited for upsizing of the liquid crystal panel, and a device for forming the spacers.
A recording medium 105 with a picture forming layer 105c is superposed on a substrate 23 for the liquid crystal panel. The recording medium 105 is irradiated with laser light from a recording head 29 and is exposed, and a picture pattern for the spacers is recorded on the picture forming layer 105c. By releasing the recording medium 105 from the substrate 23, the recorded picture pattern for the spacers is recorded on the substrate 23 as the spacers 14 for the liquid crystal panel.
