Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device capable of efficient fusion splicing of optical fibers even in circumstances of much dust or the like.
CONSTITUTION: A power source 2 and a driving mechanism 3 are provided in an enclosure 1, and a member which splices optical fibers and an optical member are provided on the enclosure, and the device provided with a fan 6, which is provided on the wall surface of the enclosure 1 and sucks the outside air, and a filter 7 arranged in the front of the fan 6 is used to splice the optical fibers, and air is introduced into the enclosure through the filter 6 and is discharged at least through peripheries of the power source 2, the optical fiber splicing member, and the optical member.
