To make analyzable data records in a data base by selectively specifiying the word in an inverted data base concerning a keyword for data base retrieval and expressing the retrieved result over all the data base concerning the logical combination of bit streams.

A computer selects the inverted data base to be a retrieval object out of several inverted data bases (S10). A retrieval reference is prepared, and the computer analyzes the retrieval reference into series of keywords connected by a pool logic computing element (S20). The computer retrieves the compressed bit stream concerning respective words in the retrieval reference (S30). Then, the logical combination of retrieval reference keywords is changed to the combination of coupling, crossing and inverting processes to the compressed bit stream (S40). Thus, even in the case of any retrieval request, it can be executed by combining these set computing elements on the coded bit stream expressing the occurrence of words in the data base.
