Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dissolve a step on a floating surface of a magnetic head. SOLUTION: This method grinds the floating surface of the floating magnetic head H having a slider H1 and an element part H2 provided on one end part of the slider H1 and formed from the raw material with hardness lower than the slider H1. At this point, this method is provided with an arrangement process pressing the floating surface of the magnetic head H by press-contacting to a grind means 2 relatively sliding for the magnetic head H in the fixed direction and grinding it and arranging the floating surface, a grindstone particle supply process supplying grinding grindstone particles T from an upstream side of a slide direction and a grind process grinding the magnetic head H by sliding the grind means 2. Then, the arrangement process is constituted so that the magnetic head H is arranged turning the element part H2 to a downstream side with respect to the relative slide direction of the grind means 2.
