Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make deteriorated plating soln. reusable without discarding said soln. that entails pollution by providing an electrolyzing device and a filter tank on the inside and outside of a Cr plating cell, and filtering off settled impurities after treating the deteriorated plating soln. electrolytically. CONSTITUTION:An electrolyzing device provided with a biscuit cylinder 2 and Pb cathodes 3 and anodes 4 on the inside and outside thereof is provided in a part in a Cr plating cell 1 and a filter tank 9 connected to the cylinder 2 by means of a lifting pipe 7 is provided on the outside of the plating cell. Deteriorated Cr plating soln. is electrolyzed by both electrodes 3, 4 in the cylinder 2 to anodize the greater part of tervalent Cr to hexavalent Cr. A small amt. of remaining tervalent Cr and impurities of heavy metal ions such as Fe are settled by cathodic reduction and the precipitates are fed with the pipe 7 to the tank 8, by which the precipitates are filtered off. The deteriorated Cr plating soln. is again circulated to plating operation and are reused without the need for discarding treatments that entail pollution.
