PURPOSE: To improve the quality of a superimposed recorded image and a high-density recorded image by recording an image formed by the first ink droplets on a recording medium using the first recording head in the upstream side and an image formed by the second ink droplets on the recording medium using the second recording head so that both images are superimposed to the other.
CONSTITUTION: Data is recorded only by a K head in the first head scan. A material in which data is recorded 8 is transported by paired transport rollers 9 and a suction transport belt 11. In the second scan, an area where data is recorded, in accordance with a recording signal K1 moves to a B recording area, and recording is performed by a head 3 to a recording signal B1. In the meantime, data is recorded in a part transported anew to a K recording area by a head 4 in response to a recording signal K2. In the third scan, data is recorded by a head 2 in response to a recording signal G1, and a part where data is recorded in response to a recording signal K2 is used for recording data by the head 3 in response to a recording signal B2. In addition, the recording signal K2 is recorded in the K recording area using a head 4. In the fourth scan, data is recorded by a head 1 in accordance with a recording signal R1 into a part where data is recorded in response to recording signals K1, B1, G1.
