To provide a method and a device for inserting a snap ring capable of easily mounting the snap ring to a ring groove formed on the inner surface of a cylindrical part, in a treatment member including an outer member that has the cylindrical part and an inner member having an outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the cylindrical part and is disposed coaxially in the cylindrical part so as to project from the cylindrical part.
In this method, the snap ring inserting device 1 having a rotary table 40 for rotating a placed treatment member 5, an insertion section 11 for pressing a part of the snap ring 60 into a clearance 533, and a pressing section 21 for pressing, toward the clearance 533, the part non-inserted into the clearance 533, are used. In this method, the rotary table 40 is rotated so that the part pressed by the pressing section 21 is sequentially pressed into the clearance 533 by the insertion section 11.
