Abstract:
To provide a method and a device for inspecting the functional capability of a reverse gear detection element used to detect a shifted reverse gear in an automobile.
According to this method for inspecting the functional capability of the reverse gear detection element 301 used to detect the shifted reverse gear in an automobile, an output signal of at least one vehicle sensor functionally different from the detection element is evaluated as a first evaluation 201, 202, 203, and 404, an output signal or the state of the detection element is evaluated as a second evaluation 205, and it is determined whether the detection element is operable or not depending on the first and second evaluations.
