Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device of laser welding wherein a welding nugget diameter is ≤100 μm, welding in a microscopic area having a welding depth ≥200 μm is realized, and the device is downsized.
SOLUTION: The laser welding method includes: making a laser beam outputted by a laser beam generating means 1 enter an optical fiber 10 via an incident optical unit 9; and irradiating a welding part with the laser beam emitted from the optical fiber 10 via an emission optical unit 11. In this method, a core diameter of the optical fiber 10 is made ≤100 μm, an incident NA value of the optical fiber 10≤0.05, and an emission NA value of the optical fiber 10≤0.1. Further, energy of the one pulse leaser beam to be emitted from the emission optical unit 11 is one joule (J) or less.
