In this low NOx combustion method for realizing a reduction in NOx by controlling the temperature of combustion gas from a burner, the temperature of the combustion gas is suppressed by a heat absorbing body group, the temperature of the combustion gas is suppressed by re-circulating combustion completed gas to the combustion reaction area of the combustion gas, and the temperature of the combustion gas is suppressed by adding water or steam to the combustion air of the burner in combination with each other. Thus, the temperature of the combustion gas from the burner can be suppressed.
