Abstract:

To provide a simplified method of lubrication during the rolling of a strip, which can be used both in cold rolling and hot rolling.

The method for lubricating work rolls 2, 3 of a rolling stand and a strip 6 rolled and passed between them is provided in which lubricant-air mixture and/or lubricant-water-air mixture are applied to the work rolls 2, 3 and/or the strip 6 at a run-in side of the rolling stand. The method is characterized in that: the mixture is processed with at least one mixing device in an area in front of the rolling stand; and water and at least one kind of lubricant are transferred to a mixer 12 via separate supply lines 7, 8, 9, and in the mixer, dispersion of water and the lubricant or emulsion of water and the lubricant is atomized in an atomization nozzle 14 by the air, and applied to at least one of the work rolls 2, 3 and/or the strip 6.
