To provide an electrode for a battery having a function with high reliability by coating a paste holding collector with the paste, which contains the electrode active material, and heating with the induced current so as to dry the coated paste for solidification.
A tape-shaped paste holding collector is continuously carried by a drive system, which is formed of drive rollers 3a-3f. In a paste coating unit 4, the paste, which contains the electrode active material carried by a paste coating roller 4b, is pushed to the paste holding collector 2 for coating. The paste holding collector is heated by the induction current generated by an induction current heating unit 6, and the coated paste is dried for solidification. At this stage, coating thickness of the paste is measured by a coated quantity detecting unit 5, and on the basis of a result of the measurement, carrying speed of a carrying system is appropriately controlled through a control system so as to efficiently dry the coated paste for solidification.
