A device for manufacturing metal flakes comprises in an inert atmosphere at least a melting furnace 4, a nozzle 2 for ejecting molten metal fed from the melting furnace 4, a first cooling roll 11 which rapidly cools the molten metal ejected from the nozzle 2, forms solidified this bodies, and ejects them in an accelerated manner, and a second cooling roll 12 which obtains the metal flakes by colliding the solidified thin bodies ejected in an accelerated manner from the first cooling roll 11, and further comprises a cooling roll unit 13 in which these cooling rolls 11 and 12 are arranged with a space S from the thickness of the solidified thin bodies to be manufactured, and an accommodation box 14 for receiving the metal flakes manufactured in the cooling roll unit 13, and has a collision cooling plate 15 with the metal flakes collided therewith at a location at which the metal flakes manufactured by the cooling roll unit 13 are dropped into the accommodation box 14.
